Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating launches new Leadership Edge Program

The Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating (CIPH) partnered with the Schulich ExecEd (Schulich ExecEd) to launch the Leadership Edge Program in February 2018.

“The customized Schulich ExecEd-CIPH Leadership Edge program was designed to develop the leaders in the plumbing and heating industry,” said Ralph Suppa, CIPH president and general manager. “The program provided managers at all levels with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed, relative to strategic thinking, leveraging their leadership, business analytics and succession planning.”

A total of 18 participants from across Canada attended the inaugural Leadership Edge program. The 4-day session was held at Schulich ExecEd’s Executive Learning Centre at the Schulich School of Business on York University’s the Keele campus, and at the Nadal Management Centre, Schulich ExecEd’s campus in downtown Toronto. The program consisted of two-day modules at each location (Module 1 in Feb 2018 and Module 2 in Apr 2018).

“Participants learned from a professional faculty about the new skills and techniques needed to create value for their customers and to bring out the best of the people that work for them,” Suppa said. “This has been a successful launch and we look forward to continuing to develop relevant programs for our members at a first-class facility.”

Mike Miller from Taco Comfort Solutions (Canada) enjoyed the highly engaging and interactive sessions. “This program program gave me a lot of insights and best practices that I will definitely be applying to my day to day business activities,” said Miller. “The content is very relevant to my job and those of my fellow students. The material was delivered by some of the finest lecturers and in a very entertaining and easy to follow manner.  One cannot say enough about the facility and hospitality provided by the fine folks at Schulich.”

“I would most definitely recommend this investment of time to my peers and competitors,” Miller added.

Based on the success of the inaugural Leadership Edge program, CIPH plans to offer its members additional Schulich ExecEd programs in 2018 and 2019.
