Lesley Gilchrist

General Management

Lesley graduated from York University in 2000 with an Honours BA in English and graduated from the  University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2008. In between, she worked as a waitress, secretary, data entry clerk and copy editor, and spent one wretched day as a telemarketer. She was called to the bar of Ontario in 2010 after articling with the Steelworkers and started working as a Grievance Officer at  OPSEU in 2011. In that time she has represented members on thousands of grievances at the Grievance
Settlement Board, private arbitrations and in Regulated Health Proceedings, and even helped a couple of them. In 2022 Lesley accepted an assignment to supervise the Arbitrations Unit of OPSEU and now supervises and manages about 40 staff who are dedicated, in their varying roles, to upholding Collective Agreement rights for 180,000 members.
