A Business Program Like No Other

Built on the experiences of the business community and the Indigenous community, our inaugural CCIB cohort of Indigenous leaders as part of the general Schulich Mini-MBA program uniquely combines the latest research taught in classrooms with real-world business skills and insights from Indigenous business leaders. This first-of-its-kind partnership brings together Schulich ExecEd’s renowned professional development expertise with CCIB’s commitment to fostering Indigenous business excellence.

In addition to covering the Mini-MBA’s key content areas, participants will get the chance to meet their colleagues and instructors at the in-person program kickoff and graduation events. What’s more, the centerpiece Capstone project gives you the chance to apply your learnings to a real-world challenge. The Capstone is supplemented by focused group coaching sessions with a seasoned Schulich Business Coach to enhance your learning experience.

At the end of the program, graduates will receive the official Schulich Mini-MBA Certificate, and receive sustained wraparound support through CCIB’s coaching programs.

Updated as of Oct 25, 2024: Due to logistical challenges, we have made the decision to pilot our inaugural CCIB cohort of Indigenous leaders as part of the general Schulich Mini-MBA program.

This means that you will have the opportunity to participate in the Mini-MBA as a specialized CCIB cohort of Indigenous leaders alongside peers from diverse sectors and communities, enriching the overall learning experience. Please refer to Schulich Mini-MBA: Essentials of Business Management for the program schedule.

In light of this change in format, CCIB and Schulich remain committed to ensuring that our specialized cohort benefits from several unique program features tailored to support your specific needs and goals, including:

  • A Dedicated Program Director: A dedicated program director will guide you through your business and community-specific Action Learning Projects, ensuring you receive tailored support throughout the program.
  • Facilitated Learning Circles: Each classroom day will begin with facilitated learning circles exclusively for CCIB participants, fostering a sense of community among Indigenous leaders.
  • Micro-Learning Events: We’ll host micro-learning events focusing on topics that address key gaps in the Indigenous business community, in partnership with CCIB.
  • Guest Speakers: You’ll have the opportunity to hear from inspiring guest speakers from CCIB, sharing insights and experiences relevant to your journey.
  • Unique Program Culmination & Graduation Event: In June 2025, you’ll have the chance to present your solution to a panel of senior Indigenous leaders and Schulich leaders at CCIB’s event in Toronto, showcasing your learnings and impact.

What Difference Will You Make?

During COVID-19 at the time of the “great remote” the Ontario Native Women’s Association (ONWA) leadership had the foresight to extend to its entire management team the opportunity to complete the Schulich Masters Certificate in Management. I personally thrived and gladly embraced Schulich’s expertise in remote learning. It was like each new class and teacher brought learning enlightenment into my home. Thanks to ONWA and Schulich I confidently navigated COVID-19 but also a learning experience at later time in my life that energized my work and complimented my toolset and for this I am so grateful.
