  • Cover the basics of how a VC makes money. Learn how the underlying economics of a venture fund guides the philosophy and decision-making of an investor.

  • Understand how an investment philosophy and mission dictate the scope of your investment parameters.

  • Use the B2B software industry, one of the most treasured business models in the startup industry, as an example to contextualize the different stages in a startup’s lifecycle.

  • Build an investment thesis for an example startup or technology trend. Discuss research techniques, thesis development, and ways to build investment conviction.

  • Get immersed in an example case study to understand founder/investor negotiations. Dive into concepts such as term sheets, legal processes, and closing deals.

  • Explore the necessary actions for managing an investment portfolio, from tactical advice on product-market-fit to board governance.
