Physician Mini-MBA carries key accreditation from professional organizations

One of the great benefits of taking an executive education program is the certification that graduates receive that demonstrates their capabilities and allows them to satisfy professional certification maintenance requirements. Nowhere is this truer than in the medical field where designations denoting key learning can significantly improve physicians’ career options.

The recently launched Schulich Mini-MBA: Physician Business Leadership Program has attracted a full complement of participants to its first run because of the unique leadership skills it gives doctors looking to run their own practices or improve efficiencies in their health facility’s operations. Adding to the value of this program are continuing education credits awarded by professional certification organizations.

Participants completing the Schulich Mini-MBA: Physician Business Leadership Program qualify for credits toward the requirements for three organizations: The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Royal College), the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) and Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL).

The Royal College has deemed the Physician Mini-MBA program qualifies for 54.5 hours towards its Maintenance of Certification Program requirements, which requires physicians to demonstrate ongoing efforts to keep their leadership skills up to date.

This Group Learning program has also been certified by the CFPC and the Ontario Chapter for up to 54.5 Mainpro+ credits.

When the program was launched, CCHL representatives joined the information sessions to explain how the Schulich Mini-MBA: Physicians Business Leadership Program also qualifies for not only certification requirements but a significant savings in the cost of meeting them. By completing the program, participating physicians save $900 off the usual fee for CCHL certification.

This recognition of the Schulich Mini-MBA: Physician Business Leadership Program also reflects Schulich ExecEd’s experience in offering custom programs for physician leaders to various healthcare organizations over the past 10 years.

Watch for news about another new program for healthcare providers soon.
