Supply Chain Leading Practices Forum features studies of Alibaba, McDonaldsPosted on January 16, 2018
Gain cross-industry perspectives and hear leading practices from companies with outstanding supply chain operations in this special forum organized by the Schulich ExecEd on Jan. 25 at the Miles S. Nadal Management Centre at King and Bay streets.
The program includes three sessions highlighting leading-edge trends in the supply chain and logistics management field from industry experts.
The day’s first session on Princess Auto’s Business Transformation using Flowcasting – “Enabling a Consumer-Driven Company” demonstrates the power of supply chain information and using it to best advantage to massively reduce inventory and administration. Ewen McIlraith, senior vice-president, supply chain, at Princess Auto Ltd. and Mike Doherty, principal at Demand Clarity will deliver this explanation of how data and procedures are coming together to achieve the goal of more timely delivery and lower inventories.
Following lunch, participants will hear from Alan Middleton, marketing professor at the Schulich School of Business and Schulich ExecEd executive director, about the Alibaba Story. This presentation will describe the incredible things that Alibaba is doing in China – which includes much more than online retail – and what we can learn from their example.
The day’s final presentation features Jeff Diamond, general manager of the Martin-Brower Company, the exclusive supply chain partner of McDonald’s on how they are “Providing Supply Chain Excellence with McDonalds”. This presentation describes how Martin-Brower makes it all come together for the world’s largest QSR company.
