Program Overview

  • This first module is an introduction to what it is to become a manager. It will address how different (and sometimes difficult) it is to shift from a specialist to a manager’s state of mind. Explore your level of readiness as well as the implications of that readiness for you, your team and your company.

  • This module is designed to strengthen your grasp of the key financial planning and reporting processes. Learn to maintain financial responsibility for the profitability and cost control of the business unit(s) you are responsible for. Tie up the program by mastering budgeting procedures for management success.

  • Gain the tools to be a creative and innovative manager who contributes to your organization’s growth and development. Dive into key critical thinking topics like data literacy and evidence-based decision-making. Finish the module by exploring creative self-awareness and brainstorming techniques.

  • A new manager should look at the big picture of their organization while still recognizing the smaller components that make the picture what it is. In this module, gain the tools to analyze your environment and determine where your department goals fit into the organization’s overall strategy–the big picture. Finally, learn to identify where collaboration with other departments is needed and how to facilitate that collaboration.

  • This module covers the main aspects of managing team and individual performance. Start by setting SMART goals for your team members and communicating, then move on to the key aspects of task and project delegation. To end the module, estimate the right level of delegation, enabling growth and giving and receiving feedback.
