Certificate in Digital Risk

Building Cyber Resilience in an Era of Escalating Threats.

As digital threats grow more frequent and severe, resilience is becoming central to how organizations govern, prepare for, and recover from disruption. In 2025, 78% of the organizations plan to increase their cyber budgets over the next 12 months*, yet ransomware remains Canada’s top cybercrime threat and recovery spending has already doubled among Canadian businesses. Leaders need practical capability to manage digital risk effectively. This program builds digital risk fluency for leaders, strengthening governance, preparedness, and resilience in an increasingly complex threat landscape.

Leading Through Cyber Risk, Digital Disruption and Resilience

Canada’s business environment continues to be shaped by disruption, rising digital dependency, and growing expectations for leadership accountability. Cyber incidents, AI-enabled threats, and third-party risks are increasingly influencing operations, reputation, and business continuity. As a result, leaders are expected to move beyond technical awareness toward governance, preparedness, and resilience.

Who is this Program For?

Program Overview

  • This module examines the evolving cyber, AI, operational, and organizational risks impacting today’s organizations, including how cyber attacks, AI-enabled threats, and digital disruption create vulnerabilities. Participants assess risks arising from vendors, partners, and interconnected supply chains, evaluate dependencies on technology, infrastructure, and essential business services, and recognize vulnerabilities and potential points of failure across people, processes, and technology.

  • This module analyzes organizational risks to understand likelihood, impact, and potential consequences, applying enterprise risk management and digital risk frameworks to evaluate organizational exposure. Participants identify weaknesses across people, processes, technology, and governance structures, then evaluate and prioritize risks based on business impact, criticality, and organizational objectives—strengthening decision making by incorporating risk considerations into strategic and operational choices.

  • This module explores governance structures that support effective oversight, accountability, and risk management, defining leadership responsibilities for preparedness, resilience, and risk ownership. Participants clarify organizational responsibilities across executives, leaders, business units, and risk functions, establish governance processes that support timely, informed, and accountable decision making, and align digital risk management activities with organizational priorities, objectives, and strategy.

  • This module develops approaches that strengthen organizational readiness and support effective response during disruption, evaluating preparedness capabilities across people, processes, governance, and technology. Participants build response plans that support coordinated action and decision-making during disruptive events, establish clear accountability, governance, and leadership pathways during incidents, and lead teams and stakeholders through uncertainty, disruption, and rapidly evolving situations.

  • This module develops structured approaches for restoring operations, services, and organizational capability following disruption, while maintaining critical operations and services during disruptive events. Participants build recovery approaches that support timely restoration of business capabilities, strengthen the organization’s ability to adapt, respond, recover, and continue operating under pressure, and identify lessons learned and opportunities to strengthen future preparedness, recovery, and resilience efforts.

  • This module places participants in a realistic disruption scenario that challenges organizational preparedness and resilience, applying risk-informed decision-making in a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment. Participants practice coordinating actions across leadership, operational, and stakeholder groups while demonstrating effective communication and accountability, then evaluate response effectiveness, identify gaps, and develop actions to strengthen organizational resilience.
